Many of our bestselling flags are made of durable nylon. Nylon is affordable, lightweight and easy to hang. It is ideal for outdoor use because it is strong enough to withstand the elements and it has a vibrancy that's hard to beat. Because the material is lightweight, the flag will fly with very little wind, making it ideal for flag poles mounted in covered or protected areas. Our outdoor nylon flags are made using 200 denier nylon.

On the other hand, sewn polyester flags are some of the most expensive flags we carry. They are the heaviest type of flags, but are also extremely durable. Sewn polyester flags retain their color well and will last longer than a printed nylon flag, but don't fly as well and require more wind to get lift.

Our high-quality flags are made in the United States by leading brands including Valley Forge and Annin. Our exclusive Super Knit Polyester Flags last as long as nylon at less than half the price. From U.S.-made nylon flags to heavyweight sewn polyester American flags, find any flag you're looking for here at the United States Flag Store; we have more than 10,000 flag items in stock!

Low cost alternatives most likely are foreign-made with cheap materials and poor craftsmanship, resulting in quick wear and excess costs for replacements over time. We make our flags 100% in the United States and guarantee the highest quality.

Two-ply polyester American flags are made using a very heavy-duty poly material, which has double the thread, making it the strongest outdoor American flag available. Like the nylon American flag, it has lock-stitched stripes and embroidered or applique stars. The two-ply polyester US flags do require heavier wind to fly, but also tend to outlast the nylon because of their durability. Available with grommets for mounting or as an American flag banner with a sleeve.

Cotton American flags are made for use indoors, under cover, or during fair weather days. They are also great for reenactments, as they are made of an authentic flag material. Cotton is a beautiful fabric but not as durable as today's synthetic flags. When you buy a US flag for under your porch or overhang, cotton is a lovely option.

An American flag banner is a type of flag which has a sleeve for mounting on a pole. This sleeve slides over the pole and fastens with a button hole to the top of the pole. This style is used for house flagpoles on the front porch or for indoor presentation sets.

My office can arrange for an American flag to be flown over the U.S. Capitol for any North Carolina resident who wishes to purchase one. Flags can be flown in someone's honor or to commemorate special occasions. Requests for flags to be flown on a specific date should be made three weeks in advance.

Over the years the focus of the program gradually expanded to encompass the commemoration of national holidays and various special events, as well as to honor the work of groups such as schools and civic organizations. Requests for Capitol flags rapidly outgrew the supply; hence, the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) instituted a program of flying smaller flags that may be purchased through members' offices.

The AOC fulfills all flag requests from members of the United States Senate and the House of Representatives. Flags are flown daily year-round, weather permitting, excluding Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Currently, the AOC fulfills on average more than 100,000 flag requests from Members of Congress annually, with the number of requests and the popularity of the Capitol Flag Program growing steadily each year. There are special flag poles where all flags are flown. After it is flown over the U.S. Capitol, each flag is issued a keepsake Certificate of Authenticity by the AOC.

In a moment of inspiration to create and make something new, Tom Moser, himself a veteran of the United States Air Force, decided to tackle an interpretation of the American flag in walnut, cherry and maple, the same premium resource as our furniture. The first flag hangs in the Dirksen Senate Building in Washington DC. Tom is now making flags in limited quantities as his schedule permits.

Each is made out of American black cherry from Pennsylvania for the red stripes, figured maple from Maine for the white stripes and the stars, and black walnut from Missouri for the blue star field in the upper left. These flags may be displayed on an easel (not included), or hung on a wall. The large and medium flags are hung using a French cleat (included), and the small flag is hung using wire hangers (included).

As humans, creation and the capacity to create is in our DNA. These creations spark joy within oneself and have the ability to unify the human spirit. For Tom Moser, the spark that led him to craft his artistic rendition of the American Flag came from a photograph of a wooden flag and a gentle nudge from a retired lawyer friend in North Carolina.

The Make American Flags in America Act also requires the Federal Trade Commission to conduct a study on the enforcement and violations of country-of-origin labeling requirements for American flags sold in the U.S. to ensure integrity of American-made products for consumers.

According to the Flag Manufacturers Association of America, 94% of American flags are manufactured in the U.S. Currently, 100% of flags bought by the Department of Defense are manufactured in the U.S., but other federal agencies are only required to purchase flags that are only 50% manufactured in the U.S.

Please be aware that all flag purchases picked up or delivered within the state of North Carolina are subject to North Carolina state and county tax. If you are Tax Exempt, you must provide and attach proof within the online form. 041b061a72
